The Dover Police Association would like to express our gratitude for all that the residents of Dover have pledged over the years, not only in financial support, but also moral support. We take pride in providing the highest level of professional and courteous service, making our community one of the safest in the area.
Hosting our community events are only one small part of the role the Association plays here in Dover. For years, we have been giving back through programs and contributions for senior citizens, youth organizations, local groups and charities in the community. The DPA also sponsors an annual scholarship to a graduating Dover Sherborn High School senior and strive to award it to a student going on to study law or criminal justice in college.
We rely on the financial support of residents and businesses to continue to fulfill these programs and positively contribute to the community, as well as satisfying our mission of helping Association members and their families in times of illness, injury, disability or death, and are kindly asking you to assist us in continuing to achieve these goals. Unfortunately, contributions to 501(c)(5) labor organizations are not tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes.
This mail campaign is the only fundraiser the Dover Police Association conducts. We know how intrusive it is to receive calls or visits at home; therefore, we do not solicit by telephone or go door-to-door. Should you ever receive a call or visit requesting a donation on our behalf, do not donate and please report the incident to the police department.
The Dover Police Association does not solicit donations by telephone. Any resident who receives a telephone call from someone purporting to be raising funds for a police organization or that alleges to benefit police officers in the area should know that they are not speaking to an employee of the Dover Police Department, and we receive no benefit from groups who make phone calls to request money.
In advance, we would like to thank you for your continued support and contributions that assist the many causes the Dover Police Association supports in our community. We look forward to serving the community in 2016 and providing the highest level of public safety service.
